New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said that Priyanka Gandhi’s entry into politics was an expected move alleging that the party promotes dynastic politics.
Speaking to reporters, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “They (Congress) consider family as the party. Promoting dynasty is what Congress is all about.”
“We congratulate the Congress for formally declaring that Rahul Gandhi has failed and now needs the support of his sister. After being ignored by Mahagathbandhan in almost all states, they are looking for support from within the party,” Patra added.
Priyanka Gandhi was appointed All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East, on Wednesday, January 23.
The decision came ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Congress party is going at it alone in Uttar Pradesh and will be contesting from all 80 seats, after the SP and the BSP forged an alliance and decided to exclude Congress from it.
