CAF jawan kills wife by electrocuting her private parts

Raipur: In a barbaric incident, a man is said to have killed his wife by electrocuting her private parts on Wednesday in Raipur’s Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, suspecting adultery.

The accused, Suresh Miri (33), who works as a cook with the 6th battalion of the CAF in Dantewada was arrested from Mungeli district hours after the murder on Wednesday and is said to have confessed to the crime during the course of police investigations.

The couple was residing at Bhatapara along with their two children. On Wednesday afternoon, Suresh had gotten into a heated argument with his wife over suspicions that she had extramarital affairs. An angered Suresh then assaulted his wife when she was in the bathroom till she lost her consciousness. When she passed out, Suresh passed electric current to her private part with the help of a live wire causing her to die on the spot, stated a police officer.

Later, Suresh called his in-laws to inform them that Laxmi had passed away due to illness and arranged to take her body to his native place via a hired van. However, Laxmi’s parents got suspicious on seeing her body and confronted Suresh as also they intimated the police.

Sargaon police team reached the village and took him into custody. Bhatapara police have been informed about his custody and they will reach Sargaon to arrest him on Friday, the officer added.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Bhatapara police officials have sealed the house of the accused, where the alleged crime took place.
