New Delhi: To the list of Indian currency notes with a new look, joins the Rs 20 denomination from Saturday, April 27.
The note which was red-orange in colour will now turn yellow-green.
The Reserve Bank of India, in its Twitter handle, has notified that the notes will be made available soon in the banks.
The Rs 20 note will comprise the illustration of Mahatma Gandhi at the centre and Rs. 20 written both in Devanagiri script and English.
It will also have geometrical shapes merging with the colour pattern and alignment of the note.
RBI Governor’s signature, Promise Clause, Guarantee Clause, Windowed dematalised security thread with inscription RBI and Bharath written in Hindi, number panels with the pattern from small to big on the top left side and bottom right side, Ashoka Pillar on the right and many such features will be seen on the front.
Behind the note will be the Swacch Bharat logo on the left hand side, Language Panel in the centre, illustration of Ellora caves at the right hand side and Rs. 20 in Devanagari script and year of printing will be made available.
According to the RBI notification, the note will be 63 millimeter (mm) x 129 mm.
