Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accused the Congress of ruining the lives of children by defending Maoists while addressing his first rally for the upcoming elections in Chattisgarh on Friday, October 9. He said that Congress had shown its hypocrisy by questioning the arrests of the said Maoists and he urged the people of Bastar to teach the party a fitting lesson.

He stated that his government was not leaving any stone unturned in strengthening the Naxal-affected Bastar and that they were working towards Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision of a prosperous region.

The PM also paid his tributes to the fallen Doordarshan cameraman Achyutanand Sahu, who was killed by Naxals last month in Chhattisgarh. This is in relation to the incident in which Sahu and two security personnel were killed on October 30 in a Naxal attack in the Dantewada district.

His speech came just minutes after Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi accused the government of helping loan defaulters like Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya escape.
