New Delhi: Social media, over the past few days, has been flooded with stories about their pet dogs who used to be women in their past lives, but now are “happy” kutris (bitch) because they cooked for their husbands while menstruating.

It can be recalled that a few days ago, Krushnaswarup Dasji, the spiritual leader of a Swaminarayan Bhuj Mandir sect, had said “If you eat food prepared by a menstruating woman even once then your next avatar will definitely be that of an ox. A menstruating woman who cooks food for her husband will certainly be reborn as a kutri (bitch).”

He had justified his statement saying that these rules have been outlined in the shastras.

His comments have widely been criticised for being sexist and misogynistic and the seer faced tremendous backlash on social media.

Many were offended that someone could even consider being born as an animal as loyal and loving as a dog, man’s best friend, an insult.

Now, netizens have been sharing images of their pet dogs whilst poking fun at the seer’s comments. The posts generally show a picture of a dog with a caption that reads that the dog was a woman who cooked for her husband whilst menstruating during her previous life, leading her to be born as a dog in this life to be loved and pampered by her owner.

Here are some posts of present day ‘kutris’ who were once women:
