Kozhikode: At least 30 people sustained injuries after a private bus lost control and rammed into the guardrail of the Vengalam bridge in Koyilandy on Thursday. The bus was on its way from Kozhikode to Iritty in Kannur when the accident occurred.
The front section of the bus was heavily damaged, and eyewitnesses claimed the vehicle was speeding before the crash. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Injured passengers were swiftly taken to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and nearby private facilities for treatment.
The mishap also led to long traffic snarls on the national highway, lasting for several hours. The Vengalam police have registered a case against the bus driver for reckless driving.
