13 flights delayed as Air India staff go on strike over Diwali Bonus issues

Mumbai: Flight operations of the government-owned aviation company Air India were affected on Thursday after a section of employees of the carrier’s ground handling subsidiary AIATSL held a flash strike over the non-payment of Diwali Bonus, as per an official statement.

Due to this strike as many as 10 domestic and 3 international flights were delayed by a minimum of three hours.

Air India Air Transport Services Limited (AIATSL), a subsidiary owned by Air India, it provides ground handling services to the company across all airports in the country and has about 5,000 employees which also include those on contract.

According to official negotiations are going on between the employees on strike and the company so that the matter is resolved as fast as possible.
