Udupi man violated home quarantine shows mobile GPS, gets booked

Udupi: An Udupi resident was, on Tuesday, Julky 14, booked for flouting the home quarantine rules 164 times in 14 days.

According to the Kundapura police, Sahab Singh arrived from Mumbai to his rented house in Koteshwara on June 29 and was ordered by the district officials to undergo home quarantine till July 13.

Singh, who is a businessman, is said to have gone out and about in Kundapura and Udupi and even visited hotels in the area, according to reports.

Singh’s his mobile GPS tracker, according to Flying Squad officer N G Bhat, revealed that he had violated the home quarantine order 163 times and visited various places.

A complaint has been filed against Singh in Kundapura Police Station in this regard and a case has been booked under IPC Sections 269 and 270 (Malignant act likely to spread infection of disease danger­ous to life).
