Udupi: The people of Udupi including several political parties and associations paid their last respects to the CRPF jawans who were killed in the Pulwama suicide bomb attack in Jammu and Kashmir, at the War Memorial at Ajjarkad here on Friday, February 15.
Udupi district BJP leaders Mattar Rathnakar Hegde and Raghupathy Bhat condemned the attack and demanded the government to take swift action against the terror outfit responsible. The BJP leaders expressed their grievance and lit candles at the War Memorial in honour of the martyred jawans.
Meanwhile, the leaders of Lions Club, Catholic Sabha, Diocese Stree Sangatan, District Working Journalist’s Association along with Suvarna TV, TV 9, Kannada Prabha, Congress leaders, JD(S) leaders, ex-servicemen Kumarachandra and others, Additional Superintendent of Police, former policemen and many others participated in mass candlelight meet.
