Udupi DC announces intra-district bus service from May 13, issues guidelines

Udupi: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh, on Tuesday, May 12, announced that intra-district bus services will begin from tomorrow, May 13.

Announcing the same in a video posted to Facebook on Tuesday, the DC said that as per the request of the people, bus services will start in the Udupi district from tomorrow.

“A limited number of KSRTC and private buses will start on May 13. Only 50 per cent of the seats can be filled, failing which stern action will be taken. Follow social distancing and wear masks,” he told the public in the video.

The number of buses that will ply from tomorrow as follows:

Udupi to Kundapur – 4, Udupi to Hebri – 1, Udupi to Karakala – 3, Udupi to Kaup-Mallar – 1, Udupi to Manipal – 2, Udupi to Barkur-Siddapur – 2, Udupi to Alevoor – 1, Udupi to Malpe – 1, Udupi to Hoode – 1, Udupi to Bramhavar – 2, and Kundapur to Baindur – 2.

As announced by the DC, these buses will ply from 7 AM to 7 PM every day and the fares will be charged as per the RTO’s stipulation.

Each bus must compulsorily be sanitized at the start of the day and after every trip. Crew members on the bus must also wear masks and gloves and carry had sanitizers.

The buses will ply only within the Udupi district. Inter-district bus facilities are prohibited, he added.
