Udupi: The Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh recently appealed to the Udupi district police superintendent to take action against a man for allegedly abusing and trying to defame Udupi Diocesan Bishop Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo on social media.
It all started when on Sunday, January 19, a large number of Catholics from the Udupi Diocese met at in the premises of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Udupi. The event was inaugurated by Bishop Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo. Soon the Catholics of the district noticed on Facebook that an account bearing the name Mohan Salian, took issue with the Bishop’s speech and abused him on the social media platform.
Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh President Alwyn Quadras, Secretary Santosh Cornelio, Treasurer Gerald P K D’Souza, Rodriguez, Joint Secretary Gregory, Former President Walter Cyril Pinto, Udupi Deanery former President Mary D’Souza, Henry D’Souza and others were present when the memorandum was handed over to the Superintendent of Police at his office.
