Udupi: A few youths, after attempting to deface the Hindu God Hanuman’s photo, took selfies and assaulted other youths at a gym in Doddanagudde near here on November 14.
They are said to have entered the Vyaayama Mandira and tried to deface the photo and take selfies, with several local youths as witnesses. Then, when the locals objected to their behaviour, they assaulted them and fled from the spot.
Three persons, including a minor, have been arrested in the wake of the incident.
The police managed to get the situation under control. Udupi district Superintendent of Police Nisha James visited the scene for inspection.
