The govt wants to help students get higher education and jobs: Kota Srinivasa Poojary

Udupi: The state government is planning to help students attain higher education and get employment later, in order to promote the performance of talented youths, said state minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Pratibha Karanji 2019 and Kalotsava programme at the Mount Rosary English Medium School campus. The programme was organized by the Brahmavara Zone Primary and Secondary Education Colleges under the auspices of the Department of Public Education, Office of the Field Instructor and Mount Rosary English School, Santhekatte, Kallianpur.

Delivering the keynote address, Prathiba Karanji Nodal Officer Raghava Shetty said that 2500 students of the Brahmavar Zone Primary, High School, and Pre-University Colleges will participate in a total of 64 denominations.

Earlier, Rev Dr. Leslie D’Souza, Mount Rosary Schools correspondent and parish priest of Mount Rosary Church, wished the contestants the best for the two-day event.

Zilla Panchayat president Dinakar Babu presided over the inaugural programme.

During the closing ceremony, Rev. Dr. Leslie D’Souza and the headmistress of the school Rev Sr. Vanditha Miranda were felicitated by Brahmavar Block Education Officer O R Prakash for their outstanding arrangements.

O R Prakash welcomed the gathering. Resource centre’s coordinator Nagaraj delivered the vote of thanks. Host school teachers Puspha and Savitha compered the inaugural programme. Kallianpur cluster level CRP Smt Jyothikala welcomed the gathering at the valedictory. Headmistress Rev Sr. Vanditha delivered a vote of thanks. School teachers Shobha and Nancy DSouza compered the programme.

Udupi Taluk Panchayat President Geetha Gururaj, ZP member Janardhan Thonse, Udupi Taluk Panchayat member Dhananjay Kumar, Kallianpur Gram Panchayat president Pushpa S Kotian, Mount Rosary Church assistant parish priest Rev Fr. Clany D’Souza, Headmistress Sr. Vanditha Miranda, Entrepreneur Dr Vincent Dias, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Baptist Dias, Secretary Ronald Saldanha, Coordinator of parish 18 commissions Santhosh Cornelio and department officials were present at the inaugural function.

Sheela K Shetty, Chief Guest ZP Vice President distributed the prizes. Forum Ward Member Geeta Niranjan, Principal Chandra Shekhar, Madhukar Shetty, District Physical Instructor Nagaraj, Subject Surveyors, Deputy Director’s Office, Field Coordinator Nagaraj, Nodal Officer Raghava Shetty, Church Assistant Fr Clany D’Souza, parish pastoral council members of the church were present at the valedictory.
