Udupi: The state government has lost the majority in the house. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should resign immediately, said Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC and leader of the Opposition in the state Legislative Council.

Addressing a press meet on Saturday, July 13, Poojary asked why the Speaker questioned the Supreme Court’s with regard to the current crisis in the state when during former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s time he did the opposite. “Why do you now object to the ruling of the Supreme Court?” he asked.

The present government is trying to pressurize the rebel MLAs through the ACB under the leadership of chief Nimbalkar. The government has lost the majority. In order to save its future in the state, the Congress party must withdraw their support of the JDS. It will be difficult for them to win the confidence motion and the state government will surely fall, he said.
