Udupi: “The RSS is not against the Muslims, in fact, it is against the Hindus,” said former Bajrang Dal Convener Mahendra Kumar.
Addressing the gathering during the Sarvajanothsava convention organised by Sahabalve-Co-existence team, Udupi, Mahendra Kumar said that the RSS is against the Dalits, the Sudhras, the backward communities and the tribal communities.
“Once again, there is a need to fight for the independence of the country,” he said adding that there is a need to discard all the system that has invaded the society to divide the people along communal lines.
“Terrorism prevails internally in India. It is not because of Pakistan,” he added referring to various communal issues persisting in India. The programme was inaugurated by Siddha Basava Kabir Mahaswami, Marulashankar Devapeeta, Kalburgi. In his inaugural address, Swamiji said that real religion is the one that asks its followers to treat another human being with affection and dignity. “Our constitution is our real holy book. Religions are meant to bloom like flowers in the garden, but unfortunately, in our country today we are poisoning each other in the name of religion,” the seer said adding that there is an immediate need to stay united.
Shivsunder, social thinker delivered the keynote address and said that citizens are not the servants of the government, in fact, it is the other way round. JDS leader Y. S. Dutta, G. N. Nagraj, Abdulsalam Puttige, Fr Chetan Lobo, V. R Sudarshan and others spoke during the occasion. Journalist Dinesh Ameen Mattu presided over the programme.
