Udupi: The Udupi police have arrested four persons in a single day for killing a Mumbai-based Maya Bar and Restaurant owner Vashisht Satyanarayana Yadav.
The main accused is Sumit Mishra (23), a resident of New Delhi’s Hussaman city. He worked at Maya Bar and Restaurant before quitting three months ago after quarelling with Yadav over money issues. The other accused are Abdul Shukoor alias Addu (35) from Suratkal Chokkabettu, Avinash Karkera (25) from Tenkamizaru Kandalabettu, Mangalore, Mohammed Sharif (32) from Udupi Shivalli Kunjibettu, who are employees of Udupi-based AKMS bus.
The police successfully arrested the accused based on CCTV footage. The car which was used in the crime was also seized by police.
The operation was carried out by a team led by Ananthapadmanabhan Circle Inspector of Brahmavar and Hiriyadka Police Station PSI Sudhakar Thonse, under the direction of Udupi district SP Vishuvardhan and the guidance of Additional SP Kumarachandra and DySP Jaishanker.
It can be recalled that 40-year-old Vashisht Satyanarayana Yadav was found murdered near Bellampalli in Hiriyadka. It is believed that Yadav was brought to Udupi where he was strangled to death.
