Udupi: As part of the forthcoming Paryaya 2020-22, a grand ‘Pura Pravesha’ (entry into the city) of Admar Mutt pontiffs in a grand procession will be held on January 8, 2020. This Paryaya is special for Admar Mutt as it is the 25th Paryaya ceremony of the Mutt.
Addressing a press conference at Admar Mutt Guest House here on Monday, December 9, Prof M B Puranik, President of Shree Krishna Seva Balaga said that this time the Paryaya ceremony will be held as per the wishes of Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamiji of Admar Mutt.
The Admar Mutt has authorised the Sri Krishna Seva Balaga to welcome the two seers of Admar Mutt Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji and Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamiji at Jodukatte at 3 pm on January 8. The Purapravesha procession will start at Jodukatte and pass through Court Road, Diana Circle, Chittaranjan Circle to culminate at Car Street.
Several committees will be formed for the smooth conduct of the Paryaya ceremony, Prof Puranik informed and added that this time plastic will be banned completely during the Paryaya ceremony, to the extent that even flex banners will not be put up for the event.
"Clothe banners will make a come back this time," he said adding that dance and cultural teams and tableau will adorn the procession of the seers.
Puranik said that those who are interested to be members of the Sri Krishna Seva Balaga can register their names. Vedamurthy Harinarayana Asranna, Yashpal Suvarna, Sripathy Bhat, Ramachandra Achar, Ananth Nayak, Y N Rao, Pradeep, Raghavendra Bhat and others were present.
