Udupi: The new superintendent of police (SP) of the Udupi district N. Vishnuvardhan took charge at the district police office here on Friday, January 3.
He took the charge from ASP Kumarachandra.
SP Vishnuvardhan is not new to the district as he served as ASP here for about 18 months in 2016-2017.
Speaking after taking charge, SP Vishnuvardhan said, “The next steps will be decided based on discussions with experienced district officials. It takes time. Udupi is a good district and the people here are also good. Similarly, the culture is unique.”
A resident of Devanahalli, Vishnuvardhan holds an MBA degree from St Joseph’s in Bengaluru.
Vishnuvardhan is a 2015 batch IPS officer who served in Mysuru as the ASP before being transferred to Bengaluru, where he served as DCP (Administration) till his transfer back to the Udupi district on January 1.
