Udupi: “It is meaningful if the most respected Hindutva leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi lays the foundation stone for the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. We hope he will do it,” said Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in Udupi.

Addressing a press meet at Kanaka Mantapa in Sri Krishna Mutt, Baba Ramdev has strongly objected to Muslims constructing the mosque on the 64 acres of land acquired by the government in Ayodhya. He arrived in the city on Friday for a five-day yoga camp.

Ramdev further said that AIMIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi was a poisoned man trying to stir up trouble among Hindus and Muslims. “If a mosque is built on 64 acres of land in Ayodhya, there is a possibility of riots in the future. We welcome the construction of the mosque outside this region. The country is one, the DNA of Hindus and Muslims is one, and we should all live in harmony,” he said.

Baba Ramdev praised Pejawar Swamiji for playing an important role in the Ayodhya movement. “The Ayodhya temple should be constructed in a grand manner and it should be like the way the Vatican is for Christians, Mecca is for Muslims, and Golden temple for Sikhs,” he said.

Ramdev also said that Udupi was a land of Sri Krishna and a place where Madhwacharya was born. He praised the people of Udupi and said its the first time since 10-12 years that he was organizing a Yoga camp for five days. Ramdev used to organize international events for three days only.

The International Yogasan Sports Federation came into existence only on Friday, November 15, when the government elected Ramdev as its first chairman. He said his first goal was to incorporate yoga into the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth games.

Pathanjali Yoga Committee State-in-charge Yogacharya Bhavarlal, Bharath Swabhiman Trust District Samrakshaka Balaji Raghavendra Acharya, MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Pathanjali Yoga Peeta Vedavyasa Tanri District President Karamballi Shivaram Shetty, Diwan of Sri Paryaya Palimar Mutt, Sri Krishna Math Administrator Prahlad Acharya, and others were present.
