Udupi: MCC Bank shifted its Shirva Branch to new air-conditioned premises; An Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) was also inaugurated on 15 September 2019 at Shirva.
The programme was presided over by the chairman of the bank Anil Lobo, V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Zilla Panchayat Member, Wilson H Rodrigues, Entrepreneur C M Joy, were the chief guests and Grama Panchayat member Shri Hasanabba Sheikh, Grama Panchayat member Shri. Sunil Cabral, Shirva Parish council President Shri Wilson D’Souza were the guests of honour at the inauguration of the new premises / ATM.
The new premises of the Shirva branch was inaugurated by V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Parish priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva and ATM were inaugurated by Wilson H Rodrigues, Zilla Panchayat Member and Bank’s Legal Advisor. C M Joy, Entrepreneur, Shirva, inaugurated the safe room.

Jerald Jude D’Silva, Vice Chairman of the bank and Branch In-Charge Director of the branch, in his introductory speech, welcomed the dignitaries and the customers of the Bank. He told the gathering that the bank was absolutely and customers had absolutely no reason to worry. He requested the customer to work hand-in-hand with the management and staff of the branch to enable the bank to reach new heights in its banking operations.
V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, congratulated the Chairman and his team for introducing the ATM and shifting the branch to a more convenient place. He opined that life is about taking risks and challenges and that the MCC Bank team is confident and of its abilities to tackle challenges and move ahead. He emphasized that the service at MCC Bank should be cordial and with a smile. He called upon the staff to be professional and to have a positive and service-oriented work culture.
Wilson H Rodrigues pointed out, that the country is facing economic slow down which has posed a different challenge to the banking sector. He congratulated the MCC Bank and said he was confident that the bank would do very well amidst these challenges.
Hasanabba Sheikh, Grama Panchayat member, Shirva, congratulated the bank for these changes and reminded the MCC Bank Team that the MCC Bank is not a community bank, but a bank for all. He emphasized that the customers are the assets of the bank and should be treated in a friendly manner and with a smile.
Sunil Cabral, Grama Panchayat Member, Shirva and President of Rotary Club, Shirva, Wilson D’Souza, Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council, Shirva Church, both congratulated the bank and requested the customers to extend their support for the future endeavours of the bank.
Anil Lobo, Chairman of the Bank, in his presidential address said, “all the banking services available at MCC Bank are at par with nationalized and other scheduled banks.” He added, “We are in healthy competition with our competitors and have introduced services like NEFT, SMS Banking, MCC Bank Mobile App, Rupay Debit card, ATMs. We are not profit-oriented but a service-oriented bank. We are the 2nd bank in the state to have an NRE facility in the Co-operative sector”. He thanked the gathering for their continuous support and sought extended support.
William Machado, who was instrumental in shifting the branch to a more convenient place, was felicitated for his selfless service. Stany B Castelino, as a representative of John B Castelino, owner of the new premises, was honoured. Karthik Kiran, Civil Engineer, was also honoured for the excellent work done at the new premises of the Shirva branch.
The valued customers of the Branch were felicitated and honoured for their support and patronage for the last 22 years at Shirva.
Later, Lalaji R. Mendon, MLA of Kaup Constituency, visited the new premises of the branch and congratulated the management and the staff. He wished the Bank success in its future endeavours.
Rayan Praveen K, Manager (i/c) of Karkala Branch compered the programme and Lancy D’souza, manager of the branch, thanked the dignitaries and the gathering.
