Manipal Police nab laptop thief, recover stolen goods worth Rs 7 lakhs

Manipal: Manipal Police have arrested an individual accused in a number of home theft and laptop theft cases which have recently increased in areas under the Manipal Police Station limits.

The accused was arrested by police near Perampalli, Manipal. He has been identified as Yogish who is based in Hoygepadau near Bajpe, Mangaluru. Over 133 grams of jewelery, 5 laptops and Rs 1 lakh cash (as well as a motorcycle used in the case) were recovered by the Manipal Police. The stolen goods are worth a total of Rs 6,65,000.

The Udupi district police have also taken the theft of laptops from homes and students quite seriously. Manipal Police Manjunath M, probationary PSI Rajasekhar Vandali, Suma. B., ASI Shailesh and staff, Vishwajit Saliyan, Dayakar Prasad, Abdul Razak, Thomson Jadkal, Prasanna, Adarsha, Home Guard Srinivasa Shettigar and Driver Sudeep participated in the arrest of the accused.

SP Nisha James announced a cash reward for the team who conducted the operation.
