Udupi: After 52 cases were reported in the last two days, the campus of Manipal Institute of Technology was declared as a containment zone on March 17.
The areas designated as the MIT campus has been sealed off and for the next two weeks, the movement of students will be restricted.
As per district officials, only the MIT campus has been sealed while no restrictions have been placed in the nearby Kasturba Medical College (KMC) campus area.
Registrar of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Narayana Sabhahit said that online classes will continue without any hindrance and any examinations within the next two weeks will be postponed.
District officials are yet to decide about students who stay outside the campus. Out of the 33 cases reported in Udupi, 27 were from the MAHE campus.
