Udupi: State health department alerted the Udupi district administration on the scare of Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD), which is popularly called as the Monkey Fever, following the recovery of dead bodies of monkeys in the district forest areas.
According to the state health department sources, dead bodies of monkeys were recovered from Siddapur, Hosangadi and Shirur villages of the Udupi district.
“We have directed authorities to be alert. Residents have been requested not to enter the forest from where dead bodies of monkeys have been recovered,” informed an officer.
