Udupi: Social activist and president of the Karnataka Anti-Graft and Environmental Forum, T J Abraham said on Saturday, March 23, that he will not allow Pramod Madhwaraj to win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to the media after the hearing of the defamation case filed against him by Pramod Madhwaraj at the district sessions court here on Saturday, Abraham said that Madhwaraj obtained a loan of Rs 193 crore in 2018 from Syndicate Bank, Malpe by pledging records of property worth only Rs 1.1 crore. Abraham had submitted a complaint in this regard to the Union Finance Ministry.

“He can file a criminal case against me. If he has no money, I will give him cheques. Do you have no courage?” he asked.

Having taken the issue personally, Abraham said that he will not allow Madhwaraj to win and enter the Parliament. “I am ready to speak in any public meeting against Pramod and I will also go to every corner of the constituency to defeat him in any way,” he assured.

Abraham claimed that Madhwaraj had filed a criminal case against him without spending a single rupee because he wanted to avoid the financial burden under IPC 499. “Why is he not attending the court hearing? The next hearing will be on May 4. This is the last call for him to attend the hearing, if he does not show up, it means that he agrees that I am right. I appeared for the hearing eight to eleven times and Pramod has not appeared even once. Pramod’s intention is to harass me,” he alleged.
