Udupi: The verdict on Ayodhya will be delivered soon and Pejawar seer Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji has appealed to the people to accept the verdict peacefully, whichever way it comes.
Speaking to media persons, the seer said that if the Ayodhya verdict comes in favour of the Hindus, they should refrain from taking out victory rallies and if the verdict goes against the Hindus, they must peacefully accept the same.
He said that the same applies even to Muslims. “The Hindus and the Muslims must accept the verdict as it is. People from our state and undivided Dakshina Kannada in specific must maintain law and order. No one should be allowed to protest,” the Seer stressed.
Talking about Tipu Sultan, the Seer said that if Tipu was a great ruler, he had the grey side too and even that side should be documented. “He was a great administrator, who brought in many reforms for the people, but at the same time, the chapters of him plundering the Churches and massacring the Christians too have been well-documented in the pages of history. Let there is truth in our textbooks, let there be no place for one-sided narratives and exaggerations,” he said.
