Udupi: A car driver miraculously escaped from an accident that took place at Karavali bypass, near Udupi on Friday, September 6 morning.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Anand Padmanabhan, a resident of Thonse, Kallianpur.
Padmanabhan is said to have been travelling to Udupi from Santhekatte when he hit an electric pole on the road divider. Luckily, he sustained only a few minor injuries and is being treated at the KMC Hospital in Manipal.
As soon as the accident occurred, autorickshaw drivers rushed to the spot in an attempt to rescue the driver from the car which had been badly damaged.
