Covid-19 victim’s wife, son test positive

Udupi: The wife and son of a Covid-19 patient who succumbed to the disease two days ago, have also tested positive in the Udupi district.

The two have been shifted to a designated hospital for treatment.

The Covid-19 victim is a 54-year-old man who returned from Maharashtra along with his wife, son and driver on June 18. As they showed no symptoms of the viral infection, they were advised to undergo home quarantine.

However, the man died on the same day and this throat swabs tested positive for Covid-19. While his driver tested negative, his wife and son tested positive for the disease, sources informed.

After his death, his house in Thekkatte has been declared as a containment zone and the whole village has been declared as a buffer zone.
