Udupi: A team from the Centre will visit four districts of the state, including Udupi, that have been witnessing a huge surge in the number of Covid-19 cases.
According to sources in the state health department, the team will visit Udupi, Yadagir, Chikkaballapura and Chitradurga. All these districts have been witnessing a surge in the number of Covid-19 positive cases since the return of migrants from Maharastra and other states.
The team will carry out independent analysis and recommend a strategy to be followed to curtail the spread of the disease. They are also expected to carry out inspections in key areas and conduct household surveys to find out the ground reality.
It can be noted that the state government has been under fire for mismanaging the migrant issues in these four districts, especially in Udupi, where it has been alleged that the state health department guidelines are being not followed properly.
