Brahmavar Police solve home burglary case, one held

Udupi: Brahmavar Police successfully cracked a house-burglary case and arrested the accused at Jail Road, Mangaluru on Wednesday, August 21.

The accused has been identified as Mohammed Ali alias Suresh (45), son of Ahmed Bava and a resident of Kalavaru, Bala village in the Dakshina Kannada district.

In a press release, Udupi SP Nisha James said that Nataraj Hamzar (a resident of Heggunje, under the jurisdiction of Brahmavar Police) had complained that someone had broken into his rented house and stolen cash as well as gold ornaments between August 3-6.

Under the direction of SP Nisha James, Additional SP Kumarachandra, and DySP T Jaishanker, the Brahmavar Police (led by CPI Shrikanth and PSI Raghavendra) successfully arrested the accused at Jail Road, Mangaluru.

The Police recovered 38.75 grams of gold worth Rs 1.20 lakh, Rs 3,00,550 in cash, an auto-rickshaw worth nearly Rs 25,000 (that had been used in the robbery), and an Omni car worth Rs 1 lakh from the accused. The total value of the recovered gold ornaments and cash is Rs 5,45,550 (approximately).

ASI Narayana, police personnel Venkatramana Devadiga, Praveen Shettigar, Ganesh Devadiga, Raghavendra Karkada, Dilip Kumar, Harish Prasad, Pradeep Nayak, Ganesh Vasudeva Poojary, Shekar, Vikram and Annappa were involved in the arrest.
