Udupi: Paintings highlighting the ill-effects of drug abuse, created by students who participated in a drawing contest organised on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse, attracted the attention of many. The contest organised by the Information Department, Udupi, Karnataka State Madyapana Samyama Mandali, Bangalore and Rotary Club-Manipal-Udupi was held at the Madhav Pai Memorial College, Manipal on Wednesday June 25.
The first place was bagged by Pratap of Madhav Pai Memorial College while the second place went to Mashkar Ahmed of the same college and Swaroop of Moodabelle St Lawrence College. The third prize was bagged by Keerthiraj of Madhav Pai College.
Surendran of Sauparnika Chitra Kala Kendra and Prof. Balakrishna Maddodi were the judges. Prof, Dayananda Shetty, Principal of the Madhav Pai Memorial College was present among others.
