Udupi: Akshay M. Hakay has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police of Udupi. He will replace Nisha James as the police chief officer of Udupi district. James has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, Internal Security Division, Bengaluru.
Hakay (29) completed his Civil Services (Main) examination in 2014 and was appointed to the Indian Police Services (on probation) in December 2015. He is from Nasik, Maharastra. Outgoing Udupi SP Nisha James, a 2013 batch IPS officer was appointed as SP of Udupi district on 21st February 2019.
Hakay had served as a probationary IPS officer in Dakshina Kannada.
