150 from Udupi, 238 others test COVID-19 positive; Tally rises to 3796

Udupi: Karnataka on Tuesday, June 2, registered a total of 388 new COVID-19 positive cases, out of which 150 cases were reported from the Udupi district alone. This takes the state’s tally to 3,796. No deaths were reported leaving the total COVID-related death toll at 52.

Kalaburagi reported the second-highest number of novel coronavirus cases today with 100 new infections.

The break-up of the rest of the cases are: Belagavi (51), Raichur (16), Bengaluru Urban (12), Bidar (10), Hassan (9), Bagalkot (9), Davangere (7), Yadagir (5), Mandya (4), Vijayapura (4), Bengaluru Rural (3), Chikkaballapura (2), Dharwad (2), Tumakuru (2), Kolar (1), and Haveri (1).

Most of today’s cases are returnees from Maharashtra.

Of the 3,796 cases, 52 are deaths, two are non-COVID-caused deaths and 1,403 are discharges. There are 2,339 active cases in the state.
