Tumakuru: Following death of a two-and-half-year-old child in a leopard attack in Baichenahalli village of Hebbur hobli in Tumakuru taluk, District in-charge minister JD Madhuswamy has said that he will speak to Forest Minister Anand Singh and make sure that the man-eater is killed.
The leopard has killed three people over the last six months and the baby identified as Chandana, daughter of Shrinivasa and Shilpa, a local farmers is its fourth victim.
Chandana was playing near her houseon Saturday night, when the man-eater attacked her.
Couple of months ago a child was killed by a wild animal and it is suspected to have been mauled to death by the same leopard.
The minister, who visited the residence of Chandana consoled the parents.
During the interaction, the parents of the child said that they do not want any compensation from the government. Instead, they said that they want the leopard to be killed.
The parents urged the Minister to give the compensation amount as reward to the one who kills the leopard that has unleashed havoc in the region.
