Tumakuru: Despite Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Dinesh Gundu Rao instructing the Congress leaders not to attend BSY’s swearing-in ceremony, rebel Congress MLA K N Rajanna attended the programme at Raj Bhavan on Friday, July 26.

Speaking to media, here on Saturday, July 27, he criticized the coalition and said, “I was waiting for this wicked coalition government to collapse. It was not a big deal for me to go to Mumbai and get back atleast half the number of rebel MLAs back to the state. The state coalition has fallen by itself and was not destroyed by anybody.”

“The sins that they made had reached the peak. The Congress should feel happy that the coalition of Congress-Janata Dal (S) has dissolved, or else the Congress would be nullified”, he added.

Meanwhile, Rajanna has opined that it was difficult for the BJP to prove its majority on the floor of the house on Monday, July 29 and that the JDS would extend its support to the BJP.

Clarifying on the ‘friendly gesture’ with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, yesterday during his swearing-in ceremony, he said, “BSY and I have been Members of Legislative Council (MLC) in the year 1998 and during a tour we both had stayed in same room. During the time when BSY was sworn-in as the co-operative bank chairperson, I had participated. Hence, we are very good friends, and there is no need to paint it differently.”
