Ever since its inception, IPL has proven to be a launching pad for a lot of players, be it domestic or international. Players like Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, R Ashwin, Rashid Khan, have all gained limelight because of their consistent performances in IPL.

With a new season about to begin, the franchises will meet in Kolkata on 18th December to pick players for the next season. There are a number of players who have been in great form over the last few months and could fetch really interesting bids from the franchises when they meet in December.

Out of all the other teams, Afghanistan has emerged as a strong contender to be a solid side in the times to come. Started as an associate nation a few years back, Afghanistan got the status of a Test-playing nation and ever since their players have been impressive with consistent performances against all the quality sides in international cricket. With their international status growing with every match, there are a few players who will grab a lot of interest from the franchises. In this article, we have created a list of such players who could grab headlines post the auctions

Hazratullah Zazai

Afghanistan has not been known for its explosive openers, however, it seems like the associate nation has just found an answer to all the criticism. Hazratullah has been providing flying starts for a while and we might see him open for one of the IPL franchises next year when the tournament goes underway.

According to the current stats, Hazratullah averages over 50 in T20I cricket with a strike rate of unbelievable 173.43. In overall T20, his strike rate comes a little down to 157. He could be an asset to any team that he is a part of and we could see him in action soon.

Najibullah Zadran

Since making his debut for Afghanistan in 2012, Najibullah has been a consistent performer for their team. He is a rock-solid middle-order batsman and a handy T20 player with a strike rate of 142.74.

One of the major attractions about him is the fact that he has played over 100 T20 games and is one of the most experienced lads in the current Afghan setup. Any franchise looking for a solid middle-order batsman could be interested in picking him up.

Qais Ahmed

Qais Ahmed is yet another young & impressive spinner to come out of Afghanistan after the current captain Rashid Khan. Rashid Khan took the world by storm when he was introduced on the international front and seems like Qais is on a similar mission.

The 19-year-old has proved himself on stages like Big Bash League & Pakistan Super League and it’s just about time that he is picked up by an IPL franchise to play in the upcoming season.
