Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar will finally depart the scene after playing a record 200th Test match in front of home fans at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai from Thursday. He will be playing his farewell Test match, but the fans could be in for a special surprise as it is speculated that Tendulkar may come out for a Toss.

It is also contemplated that Tendulkar could either go for the toss along with India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, or the Mumbai batsman may even lead the team in his final match on his home ground.

Since Tendulkar is a Mumbaikar himself it is learnt that he had recommended Dhoni’s name for the captaincy on which Dhoni suggested Tendulkar to lead the toss, may be this is the way he wanted to show his gratitude for the retiring legend.

He has scored 15,847 Test runs at an average of 53.71, with 51 centuries, and 18,426 one-day runs at 44.83 with 49 hundreds, including the first double century in 50-over internationals.

Tendulkar has played 25 Tests and 73 One-Day Internationals, which is more than any player in history and compiled more runs and centuries in both forms of the game than anyone else.
