Cologne: The Manchester United football team that is scheduled to play against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday November 27 for the Champions League match went through a mishap even before they could arrive at Germany for the match.
It is learnt that the plane carrying players and coaching staff from Manchester United to Germany ahead of a Champions League match had to abort its landing because another aircraft was still on the runway.
United has confirmed reports in the British media that the plane was preparing to land at Cologne airport on Tuesday when it was forced to pull up again. No one was injured, the pilot apologized and the plane finally touched down behind schedule.
United defender Rio Ferdinand said in a Twitter post: "Landed in Germany....just....I've only just recovered after that choppy landing!"
