Mumbai: Mumbai University proposed to award honorary doctorate legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
The vice-chancellor Rajan Velukar is likely to get approval from chancellor in this regard.
It will take a few months to award the doctorate, but the officials are unrevealing any information in this regard. If Sachin accepts the doctorate, he would become the first sportsman in the nation.
Its not the first time, Sachin was recommended to award doctorate. In the past, his name was recommended during India’s triumph in world cup – 2011, but Mumbai University has not considered.
Sachin had refused to accept the doctorates from Mysore University and Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) in the past, while one got to wait and see whether Sachin will accept the doctorate from Mumbai University.
