The England cricket team has been producing some of the best performances in the sport since the 2015 ODI world cup when they’re ruled out from the championship in the first round. They are doing pretty good in limited-overs cricket, especially in T20 cricket. England won their maiden World Cup title in 2010 when they lift the ICC T20 World Cup trophy in West Indies.

England never won any ICC tournament before 2010 but what made them believe that they could win world twenty20?
The secret of winning the 2010 world cup was revealed by England’s former cricketer Kevin Pietersen who was part of that squad and played a match-winning knock in the final against Australia. He said in a conversation that range-hitting was the secret behind England’s success in the 2010 t20 world cup.

“In the 2010 world cup, which we won in the Caribbean, that was the first time that we really went out and practiced range-hitting. If there’s a ball in the area that I’ve been really clouting, she goes” Pietersen said in an interview to Betway.

Speed and force carry energy to the game. They have entered all parts of cricket, beginning from the configuration’s development to blowing away at very high rates recording 100+ strike rates from the batsman. Today, power-hitting has become an indispensable piece of the group’s down technique.

During the conversation, South Africa’s David Miller also supported Pietersen and said that those days don’t exist anymore when batsmen feared getting out. Nowadays they come to the crease and go for maximum from the first ball.

“You can always get the power through the gym and getting strong, but you look at Nicholas Pooran now, even AB de Villiers, they’re not as big and strong. I’m not necessarily big on the weight of a bat but makes a massive difference in the mental side of things. Gone are the days of getting yourself in. Players are realizing that they can score at 13 or 14 runs an over,” Miller quoted as saying.

Constant effort and high concentration can lead to the perfect bat speed control. Bat speed is regularly the most discussed factor in playing a force shot, aside from shots played to divert the ball behind the stumps. The quicker the bat hits the ball, the higher the likelihood of clearing the limit as the ball’s power will speed up. Bat speed alone won’t help in power hitting; however, plays a significant factor alongside different components like approaching ball speed, the circumstance effect of the ball on the bat, point of contact with the bat, and so on. Monitoring the bat’s speed will help change the strategy to various bowling types and pitch conditions.

England team is currently the world’s number 1 T20 team in ICC rankings. English side will be a favorite in this year’s ICC World T20 championship to be held in India.
