Karachi: Pakistan Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi had to face embarrassment after he bought a meal at McDonald’s restaurant inside the Auckland airport in New Zealand only to realise that he did not have local currency to pay for the same.
However, thanks to a fan who saved Afridi on time.
It is said that on Monday, Afridi who was with Ahmad Shahzad bought meals from the outlet. The duo was carrying US dollars instead of local currency, but the restaurant did not accept the money offered by the them.
Finally, a fan – Waqas Naveed – came to their rescue and paid their bill.
Waqas said he paid the bill to welcome the players as he was a big fan of the Pakistan cricket team.
