Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited fresh applications for the post of Team India’s head coach and several support staff for the national men’s team. Head Coach Ravi Shastri’s contract expires in September after Team India’s tour to West Indies. However, the option is open for Shastri to reapply for the position after the end of his term, which coincides with that of West Indies tour.

The same is the case with most of the other incumbent members of the support staff like bowling coach Bharat Arun, batting coach Sanjay Bangar and fielding coach R Sridhar and so on. They too can re-apply after the end of their contracts. However, new faces will replace Physio Patrick Farhat and trainer Shankar Basu since they have already quit after the current World Cup series.

However, it is left to be seen whether Shastri gets yet another term as Head Coach of the national team or not. The former all-rounder took the reins of the team from Anil Kumble in July 2017, after his tenure as the Team Director. There was an extension of Shastri’s by 45 days after the World Cup.

Applications are expected from several national as well as international cricketing figures Team India’s Head Coach post. The decision on whether to continue with Shastri or have a fresh face would be taken by The three-man Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and V V S Laxman will take a final call on the continuation of Ravi Sahatri as the head coach.

Applications have been called for Batting Coach, Bowling Coach, Fielding Coach, Physiotherapist, Strength and Conditioning Coach and Administrative Manager.
