Will take help from pvt hospitals to tackle COVID situation: Shivamogga DC

shivaDC M 2862020Shivamogga: Shivamogga district Deputy Commissioner K B Shivakumar has informed that district administration will take the help of the private hospitals if need arises, while tackling the Corona cases in the district.

He was addressing the representatives of private hospitals and doctors at a meeting organised at DC’s office on Monday, January 29.

“The government has already issued a circular to give treatment for Covid patients, at the private hospitals which are enrolled under Vajapayi Arogya Shri scheme. A team of doctors have been asked to pay visit to these hospitals to take stock of the situation. The report should be submitted soon in this regard,” Shivakumar said.

Informing about the total number of Covid-19 cases in Shivamogga district, Shivakumar said, “District has registered a total of 151 positive cases, out of which 45 patients have been receiving treatment at McGann Super Specialty Hospital. If the cases increase in coming days, district administration will take the help of private hospitals.”

Meanwhile, Shivakumar informed that a total of 2225 beds were arranged at Covid Care Centres. Those who are tested positive and have no symptoms of the disease will be treated in this Covid Care Centres, he informed.

Superintendent of Police K M Shantharaju, ZP CEO M L Vaishali, DHO Dr Rajesh Suragihalli and others were present.
