Three theft cases in just two days! City on alert

Shivamogga: The city has witnessed some of the worst crime streaks, as within just two days, around three chain snatching cases have been reported.

Today, in one of these cases, chain snatchers took a 50 gram gold chain from Gauramma’s (52) neck while she was on her way to work at the KPTCL office.

In another incident that was reported from the city, two women meticulously stole about 33 grams of gold from the Mythri Jewellers located at Mathura Paradise. They stole three pairs of jhumka’s’ said to be worth Rs 1.25 lakhs.

The theft was captured by the jewellery store’s CCTV camera.

According to the reports, the duo had earlier been to Joy Alukas jewellery shop, but could not steal anything.

Sources say that the duo also paid a visit to another branch of Mythri Jewellers located at Jail Road.

Senthil Velan, proprietor of Mythri Jewellers has registered a complaint with the Jaya Nagar Police Station in this regard.
