Shivamogga: “A strict lockdown is scheduled to be implemented from May 31 to June 7 across the Shivamogga district,” said district-in-charge minister, KS Eshwarappa.
Speaking to the reporters at the DC office on Saturday, he said that although the cases of Covid in the district is constantly decreasing. Despite the lockdown being enforced, there are cases where people are unnecessarily moving. In view of this, a strict lockdown has been scheduled for a week from 10 am on Monday.
District Commissioner KB Shivakumar said “the number of cases of Covid has been decreasing in the district from the past 7 days. A total of 26 active black fungus cases have been detected and treated in the district. DC said that people should follow the precautionary measures.”
Senior Superintendent of Police Lakshmi Prasad, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer ML Vaishali and other senior officials were present.
