Shivamogga: “The state Bharatiya Janata Party leaders especially, party state President B S Yeddyurappa does not have the ability to face Prime Minister Narendra Modi and bring developmental projects to the state,” said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Speaking at an election rally in Shikarpura, HDK said, “I am not Modi or Uma Bharti. I have released a lot of funds to the district that includes Rs 600 Crore for Shikaripura alone. BJP leaders claim that the irrigation projects were released in the state because I requested Union Minister Uma Bharti to do so. This is not true. Uma Bharti has not released any such project for the state. Will these union ministers face Modi and ask him to sanction any developmental project? I know them very well.”
HDK also spoke on liquor ban in the rally. He said, “Liquor should be banned in the state. So far, no proposal in this regard has been made with the government. There should be a discourse on banning liquor. However, liquor ban cannot be implemented all of a sudden. It will take time.”
Slamming PM Modi for claiming to be the ‘Chowkidar’, HDK said, “Rich people employ ‘chowkidars.’ The poor cannot afford that. Modi is misusing the word.”
