Bengaluru: The under-construction Airport in Shivamogga will see its completion by coming June, sai Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa at Sogane here on Saturday June 12.
Speaking to media persons he said, ” Shivamogga will soon have a sophisticated airport next only to Bengaluru. Despite economic hurdles, quick-paced work is being undertaken, he added.
In the presence of Urban Development Minister Byrati Basavaraju, Mayor Sunitha Annappa, and Deputy Commissioner K. B. Shivkumar, CM unveiled the blueprint of the airport building and said that the setting up of the airport is expected to enhance the employment opportunities for all the districts of the State along with the overall development of Shivamogga.
CM also added that the government has been taking all the precautionary measures to face the third wave of Corona Virus disease. The committee under Dr. Deviprasad Shetty will submit the report in the upcoming days and all the necessary measures will be taken to combat the pandemic according to the report.
Chief Minister has advised the officers to complete it at a fast pace. He was speaking to the officials after reviewing the progress of various development projects implemented in the district. Listing out the various schemes of the district, the Chief Minister has assured to provide the required grants and emphasised that in the next one and half years Shivamogga will develop as a model district for the entire State of Karnataka.
He assured to discuss the hindrance caused in installation of idol of Basaveshwaa by the Shivamogga Municipal Corporation in the cabinet and thereby clear the issue.
