Police nab trio for allegedly torturing dog with firecrackers

Shivamogga: Three persons were nabbed by the Bhadravathi Police for allegedly tying a fire cracker to a dog’s tail and torturing it, on Wednesday, October 30.

The arrested accused are identified as Nithin, Mithun, and Bharat.

They were arrested based on a complaint filed by the Shimoga Animal Rescue Club, and interrogated.

The trio have been accused of tying a firecracker to a dog’s tail and lighting it on Diwali. As the fire cracker began to burn, the dog ran for its life.

A video of the incident had gone viral on social media and a bike bearing the number plate KA – 14 – ET – 0510 was seen.

The police nabbed the trio with the help of this video and the number plate, as it was confirmed that the culprits were from the same district.

The incident is said to have occurred in Singanamane.
