Shivamogga: “For the security of the country and to put an end to Pakistan supported terrorism, Narendra Modi should once again become the Prime Minister of India,” said Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah.
Shah, who arrived at the city in a helicopter was greeted by party leaders and members by showering flowers and bursting crackers. The BJP President participated in a road show to campaign for party candidate of Shivamogga constituency, BY Raghavendra. The road show commenced at the city’s Rangappa Circle, and went through Channagiri road, Madhavachar circle, BH Road, Dr. Rajkumar road, Halappa circle ending at Ambedkar circle. Thousands of people had gathered in the streets to witness the rally.
Speaking after the rally, Amit Shah said that the BJP has decided that Narendra Modi is the prime ministrial candidate, considering the fact that the country is safe in his administration and the Pak supported terrorist organizations will be squashed under his rule.
“Though there is election in my constituency in North India on April 23, I have come here on the request of the party leaders to campaign for BY Raghavendra. I request the people of Shivamogga to vote for Raghavendra and help him win the election,” Shah said and said that he is grateful to the people for gathering in thousands for the road show and expressing their support.
Speaking at the event, leader of opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, K S Eshwarappa said that there was no unity among the Congress-Janata Dal (S) in Shivamogga LS constituency.
Eshwarappa called upon the people to vote for BY Raghavendra and make him victorious with a margin of more than 25,000 votes.
BJP candidate for Shivamogga LS constituency, BY Raghavendra said, “The massive gathering of people, despite the scorching sun is a clear indication of the party’s victory in the LS polls”.
Former president of the legislative council DH Shankaramurthy, District President Rudre Gowda, local Presidents G Anand Kumar, Mangote Rudresh, party leaders V Kadareesh, Dattatree, C Manjula, Dharma Prasad, Vishweshwara Hegde and many others were present.
Thousands of saffron clad people including women were all over the city shouting pro Modi slogans during the road show.
