Shivamogga: Former Prime Minister and JDS Supremo HD Devegowda has called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a dictator who holds no mercy and compassion towards the farmers.
Addressing a party workers’ convention of both, the Congress and the JDS at Umbalebail in Shivamogga, Gowda said that Modi doesn’t know what sympathy is all about.
“Every time the farmers had been in trouble over the last five years, the PM only remained silent. I am contesting the polls this time because many senior national leaders had requested me saying that they need my support to fight Modi, who is acting like a dictator. All the anti-Modi leaders are facing the polls together, ” he said adding that it is important to keep the BJP away from power for the sake of the future generation.
“There is also a need to put an end to this ‘Supreme one man’ picture painted by the BJP,” he said while urging the voters to support the coalition candidate Madhu Bangarappa in the district.
Minister DK Shivakumar predicted a clear victory for Madhu Bangarappa and said that even luck is on the coalition candidate’s side.
He questioned where the ache din has shown up in the country.
Minister HD Revanna, continuing the attacks on the PM said that hundreds of villages in the state have been declared as drought-hit and the centre has not come to the rescue of the state. “Discontinuing all people-friendly policies of Dr Manmohan Singh government is the only achievement of Modi, ” Revanna said.
