Shivamogga: In a rather shocking incident, several policemen rushed to Doddapete police station and lodged a complaint that they have lost their mobile phones and cash.
An additional police force was brought to Shivamogga from other places to ensure security during Hindu Mahamandali Ganapathi immersion procession held recently. All the policemen were given accommodation at RML Nagar hall.
However, on Sunday morning as many as 27 mobiles and Rs 25,000 in cash went missing from the place.
The police suspect that a mobile robbery racket is behind this act. The robbers have only picked smartphones while basic sets have been left behind.
The incident has left eyebrows raised.
